When I was growing up in a small town in Brazil, I remember dreaming about visiting Disneyworld. For me was such a distant dream being that my parents could not afford
I have been to the Happiest Place on Earth a few times, not enough if you ask this small town girl. I went 3 times just before I got married, then after we had the baby we decided to make our first trip together to Florida and go see the mouse and his friends.
Isabella was 18 months on this trip and could not grasp the greatness of this adventure. Now Gabrielli, on the other hand, could enjoy and did enjoy all the experiences related to this vacation. From the rides like Space Mountain and Splash Mountain just to name a few, to all the characters encounters.
It was magical indeed. In the morning on our way to the park we would take the ferry, that way all of us could enjoy the views of the resorts along the route, it’s a very pleasant ride.
After we got in the park, since it was our first time and we had a toddler, we went straight to Mickey’s Toontown Fair to visit Mickey’s and Minnie’s house, we saw a lot of Disney’s friends on the way there and back, got to take some nice pictures and some not so nice.
To keep a 18-month-old attention was a challenge but after walking around for a while we had to let her play at the playground and splash pad at Casey’s Junior Splash ’N’ Soak Station. The Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover was also a hit with all of us, it was mostly shaded and it had some dark tunnels that made for some awesome pics of the little one.
After lunch we had to let the little one to take a power nap while Daddy and Sissy enjoyed the grownup ride, no pics cause Mommy was watching the baby. Naps make everything better, all you need is a snack then you can wait for the parade. We were all impressed with all the allegories of the costumes and floats, simply magic.
We were lucky that the parade was early so we could go back to the hotel and get the kids to bed so we could be ready for the next day.
It was time to visit Animal Kingdom, we love animals, so it’s always a hit whenever we go somewhere that we are going to see a lot of zoo animals, and at the Animal Kingdom you see some of the most magnificent animals that there are. There are fewer rides at this park but you can still enjoy some parades, some characters and some shows. This is a great theme park for families with small kids.
The last day before we left Orlando we got to visit the Disney’s Boardwalk, its a quarter mile of unique shops, restaurants and nightlife, we got to see some amazing lego sculptures, the Disney stores there makes any Disney lover go bananas. We had such an amazing time in this first adventure as a family of 4.
Got a question? I would love to hear from you. Also, please sign up for our email list so you don’t miss out on upcoming posts.

This trip was taken a few year back so some of the attractions may have changed.
